Tour of George C. Marshall High School

Drop In Mixer at Embassy Suites

5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Saturday September 30

Breakfast at Embassy Suites

7:00 am - 10:00 am

Full buffet breakfast only available and free for those staying at Embassy Suites Friday Night

Tour of George C. Marshall House/Lunch

10:30 am & 11:00 am Tour Slots

Attire: Comfortable. Tour of Marshall House in Leesburg takes about 75 minutes. Afterwards we will have an optional lunch in downtown Leesburg. Downtown Leesburg is a pleasant place to walk around after lunch as well. Fee: $12 for tour

Parking for Marshall House: Following GPS might not get you to the proper parking area for the Marshall House (try 312 E Market St, Leesburg). When driving west on East Market St in Leesburg, you will pass on your right Country Buick, and then Goodyear. Turn right into the Dodona Shops parking lot and park in the rear.

Saturday Lunch Meet Up

12:00 pm

Attire: Comfortable. This is not an official Reunion event, but we are recommending for people who want to meet up for lunch or just hang out Saturday that you consider Andy’s Pizza inside Tysons Galleria. There is plenty of room and the pizza is really good. The Yard House in Tysons Galleria is another spot to meet. Right next to Embassy Suites there is a Chick-fil-A and Chipotle.

“The Main Event” at Maggianos

Tysons Galleria - enter near Neiman Marcus

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Attire: Casual +. Passed hors d’oeuvres from 6-7 pm. Buffet dinner served starting at 7 pm. Gary Smallwood will be providing 60’s & 70’s music during this time. Lynn & Julia Kasdorff will also be performing at “The Main Event”. Come hungry, this will be a feast. Cash bars will be available.

Shuttle service is provided between Embassy Suites and Maggianos. Because of the amount of people staying at Embassy Suites, we highly recommend that you to take an early shuttle.  If you wait until closer to 6 pm you quite likely will experience a backup and delay getting to the Cocktail Hour.

Leaving Embassy Suites:  5:00 pm, 5:15 pm, 5:30 pm, 5:45 pm; 6:00 pm; 6:15 pm

Leaving Maggianos: 9:00 pm, 9:15 pm; 9:30 pm; 9:45 pm; 10:00 pm; 10:15 pm

(All times approximate)

Doors open a little before 6:00 pm. If you arrive early to the Galleria you might walk around the mall and do some window shopping before coming upstairs. There is a very nice “food court” near Andy’s Pizza to casually hang out, and some really nice home stores at the opposite end of the mall (you have to check out the Restoration Hardware store, not for the furniture but for the store itself).

When you enter Maggianos you can proceed up the stairs to our event. There is an elevator through the swing door just past the stairs/restrooms.

PLEASE NOTE: You will be able to start a bar tab with a credit card. We are recommending however that you BRING CASH for the cash bar, just in case credit cards become a logistical problem and slow things down. There will be table service for ordering additional drinks via your bar tab throughout the evening.

Drink Prices:

Premium Liquor & Wine: $10       Beer: $5       Soda, Iced Tea & Coffee: Free

EMBASSY SUITES SHUTTLE SERVICE

Picnic at Nottoway Park in Vienna

9537 Courthouse Rd, Vienna

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Attire: Comfortable. As part of our “Senior Citizen Outreach Program”, we will come together for a Sunday picnic with the GCM Class of 1971, who is belatedly celebrating their 50th Reunion the same weekend as our reunion. Bring your own food and drinks (this is not a pot luck). Picnic tables, restrooms, and hot grills (for burgers, hot dogs, etc) provided, along with a large covered pavilion. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs just in case you need them. FYI: There is a Wawa at the corner of Nutley and Maple Ave (Rt 123), one half mile from Nottoway Park, as well as a Popeyes, Giant and Whole Foods grocery along Maple Ave in downtown Vienna.

As per park regulations, no alcohol is allowed. If inclement weather prevents us from holding this event outdoors, check back to this page for alternate location.

For more information, please contact our Picnic Coordinator, Colleen Lockard.
